The Feel Good Tour proudly presents2 time Grammy award winning artist David Bernz, and James Durst, in concert on Wednesday March 20th at Community High School in June M. McBroom Theater, 302 Campbell Avenue SE, Roanoke, VA 24013 at 7:30 PM-10:00 PM. What is The Feel Good Tour? Well, we collect instruments from patrons and give them to kids in the community who can’t afford them, for free. It’s that simple.
Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door, or bring in any good working instrument to donate, you get in for free. For information contact John McBroom at mcbroom.john@gmail.comor find us on Facebook at: The Feel Good Tour.
David Bernz plays in the Award winning group “Work O’ The Weavers”and has a long history with folk music. His father, Harold Bernz, was a friend of Lee Hayes, one of the the original members of The Weavers. Bernz senior and Hays shared an apartment before Bernz married. “My father bought the groceries,” David says, “while Lee did the cooking and cleaning.”
James Durst has not only played in every state in this country, but he has also played in 45 different countries. In addition to singing in more than two dozen languages, he also has composed hundreds of songs.
The unique part of the Feel Good Tour is that if anyone brings a working instrument to donate they get in for free. Band and acoustic instruments are preferred, but we will take anything as long as it’s in working condition.
We have collected and donated over 250 instruments to 4 Gulf Coast schools, after Katrina, and 1 school in West Virginia, so far.
